EPLT works with Faculty of Education departments and school districts to deliver off-campus professional development diploma programs in BC school districts. These programs provide teachers and others with specialized coursework for advancement in positions and in TQS categories.
Teachers who complete their 30–credit UBC diploma may apply to the Teacher Qualification Service for a qualification upgrade.
EPLT also provides support to the Institute for Early Childhood Education & Research (IECER), which offers a Diploma for Infant Development & Supported Child Development Consultants.
The UBC Diploma in Education is designed as an in-service program for qualified teachers and others working in educational situations. Diploma programs are open to all qualified teachers who hold an acceptable degree from a recognized university. No particular degree standing is required. The Diploma in Education is a 30-credit UBC-conferred post-degree diploma. Below is a list of off-campus diploma programs.
Students are reminded that upon completion of all diploma requirements they must make formal application for the award of the diploma. Graduation procedures and deadlines can be found at the Student Service Centre.
